Mounted on the top of the cylinder head, directly connected to the spark plug; converts low voltage to high voltage to ignite the air-fuel mixture. When acceleration is jerky, idle shakes, fuel consumption rises or the check engine light comes on, ignition coil aging or breakdown is usually the cause.
